Editing Services

I was educated in Pacific Palisades, California, and attended the local community college and UCLA. I also went to Emerson College, a teacher training school in England. Besides having written three published novels, I have created strategically optimized content (blogs, feature articles, and web pages) for treatment centers throughout the country. I have also been employed as a writer for several Hollywood entertainment periodicals, taught music at Pepperdine University (Malibu campus), and worked in technical sales and marketing.

I have done work as an editor and/or proofreader for several publishers, including BelleBooks, The Story Plant, and The Learning Company, as well as (on the technical side) The Bulletin of the Seismological Society of America. Additionally, I work privately with authors. Check out some of the books—including bestsellers—I have worked on.

I offer developmental, copy editing, and proofreading services. Developmental editing involves a big-picture review of a manuscript, including structure, plot, pace, character development, and resolution. Copy editing includes checking for spelling, grammar, punctuation, syntax, fact-checking, internal consistency, dangling modifiers, clichés, repetitive sentence constructions, and anything else that might interfere with a careful reader’s enjoyment. Proofreading assumes that a proper copy edit has been done, and is the final filter on your manuscript before it goes to print.

I will work directly with a writer, an editor, or both, depending on the client’s preference.
